Although the Costa del Sol region is known for its beaches and towns, the traditional pueblos blancos or white villages also attract millions of tourists every year.
Ronda is probably the most famous of them all, known for its jaw-dropping gorge and views, but there are over 100 other little villages that are also beautiful in their own unique way. It’s imposible to visit them all, but just a few that we would recommend are:
When choosing which to visit, if you are overwhelmed by options then a good place to start your decision-making is deciding how close you want to be to the beach. A common misconception is that all of Málaga’s white villages are far away up in the mountains, when in fact many of them are right on the beach.
If you prefer to stay nearer the coast then consider visiting Nerja or Torrox for example, or if you are a hiker and would rather be in the mountains then maybe check out Ronda or Cómpet where there are countless hiking trails full of wildlife.
